Old Omer Christian Church and Cemetery Case # 06-0002 The Omer Christian Church was organized and built in 1883 by Rev. R.V. Omer for whom the church was named. The Church has been inactive since 1910, The graveyard has been there since 1820. The first person buried there was a young child that died (no child name). William Dillard owned the property. Him and his wife Elizabeth are both buried there. The legend is that strange lights can be seen in the graveyard at night, also It was reported to this investigator. That an old man has been seen on the property late at night. He was reported being seen walking out from behind the old church carrying an old style lantern. He walks along side the church and down into the graveyard and then vanishes. He was said to be wearing overalls, an old flock coat and a hat. The eyewitness to this sighting was a former Barrow County Sheriff Deputy. Who has passed away since the sighting. B.C.P.S. went to the location in late March of 2006 to try and collect evidence to support the claims. A night vision camera was placed at the church where the sighting was said witnessed. Two teams were placed in different locations of the cemetery. Although no sighting of the old man was seen. Video did pickup some strange light orbs appear on the side of the church as well as strange lights in the graveyard. Due to the close proximity to Hwy 316. Any attempts to capture evp's were impossible. At one time during the investigation this investigator had a section on chain fence that surrounded a section of graves move as if someone was inside and hit the fence from inside. It was an interesting investigation to say the least and we hope to be able to return in the future. These photos were sent to us by Linda Russell of Winder.  She claims to have captured a woman walking across in front of the church as a ghostly fog on film. Private Residence in Winder, Ga. Case# 06-0003    The B.C.P.S. was contacted by a family in Winder in March of 2006. The family claimed that strange events were occuring in the home that they rented. The family stated that they has experienced, voices coming from the basement late at night. The voices were of two males talking and the sounds of working, also claims of voices being heard all throughout the residents. A glass was seen moving across the counter top in the kitchen that the intire family claimed to have witnessed. Doors opening that were closed and locked. The front door was said to open on its on when visitors would arrive at the home.    The husband claimed to have seen an reflection in the tv of an older woman sitting on the couch late one night. Reports of lights flickering in the bedroom and lights going on and off, also reports of footsteps walkign through the house and master bedroom.    After being told of the claims, the B.C.P.S. team looked into the history of the home. The home was built in 1962, the current owner of the home was not available for comment about the history of the home. We were able to find that the former occupants of the home were Harry & Betty Cronic of Winder, both are now deceased. Information was told to us by a friend of the Cronics son (who is also deceased) that Mrs. Cronic passed in the house from cancer. Mr. Cronic committed suicide at his shop what was located in Winder not long after her passing. Also it was told to us that thier son overdosed on drugs and that was how he passed. This information was also verified by the Barrow County News.    An investigation was conducted in April of 2006. The results of the investigation was interesting to say the least. Numerous light anomalies were picked up on video throughout the home and most were in response to questions asked by the team. Video recorded the sounds of footsteps walking in the front room, also video picked up sounds in the basement of thumping, hissing, dragging and sniffles. A camera was placed on the door that the family stated would open and close on its own. No evidence was recorded on the door opening. Evp's were taken all throughout the home, but do to some unknown reason all recordings digital and analog did not record any sounds or voices, even the voices of the team were not recorded on the devices. The devices used were later tested and found that nothing mechanically was wrong with them. EMF and temperture readings were monitored with no major changes.    The B.C.P.S. has determined that the residents does support paranormal activity. Update: Since the investigation I have spoken with the family and they state that nothing unusual has happened in the home since the B.C.P.S. has been there. This could conclude that the spirits that were in the home have found peace and passed on to the other side. We here at the B.C.P.S. feel pleased that the family has found peace in thier home and that by our presents there may have helped lost spirits pass on. Statues of Case: Closed

The Barrow County Jail/Museum Case #06-0004 was built in 1915, The Jail designed by James J. Baldwin, architect, is castle-like and the building faces West Athens Street. The hanging tower, located on the 3rd floor, has never been used. The Barrow County Jail currently houses the Barrow County Museum est. 1993 with artifacts of Barrow County Historical Society. The museum is a State Historical Site, and is on the National Register of Historic Sites. The B.C.P.S. first started investigating the museum due to the age of the building and its history. EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) were picked up all throughout the building with the majority being recorded in the upstairs cells and in the upstairs records room. Permission was given to place cameras inside the building over night. The results were several unexplainable light anomalies and disembodied voices and strange sounds. (To hear some of the EVP’s picked up in the Museum check out the Audio File page).  Update: On 4-16-07 I met with the President of the Barrow County Historical Society. We discussed the museum and the paranormal activity at the location. He was impressed with the findings so far and he will be talking with the Historical Society about allowing an on site investigation in the near future. While I was there I conducted more EVP's and took photos of the inside. He also stated that the museum will be going through some much needed renovation to replace the bad floors in the museum. We took with us a young medium to walk through the location. The atmosphere in the building had change since my last visit to the building. The young girl was able to comunicate with and track several spirits within the building. She claimed to see an older man dressed in a gray suit standing on the bolcony in the main area. Could this have been Mr. Ingram the former curator of the museum. She also picked up on an angry spirit that resides in the isolation cell up stairs. She also saw the same older figure (Possibly Mr. Ingram) watching her behind the only remaining cell in the main area of the museum. She pointed this out to me and I walked behind the cell and a cold spot was felt for a few seconds and went away. She then claimed that the presents had moved and she tracked it to the area known as the hanging tower. Evp's were caught on audio of her interactions with these presents. Old Cotton Farm Investigation- Bethlehem, Ga. Case # 06-0005 The B.C.P.S. was informed by the homeowner in November of 2006 of strange happenings occurring in the residents and on the property. The homeowner explained that his two small children were claiming to be experiencing strange things happening in the basement of the home. Also they claimed to be seeing persons on the property that should not have been there. The B.C.P.S. went to the location in November to interview the homeowner and the children. The reports were to say the least interesting. The children told us of several things that they had experienced. One was that the homeowners cat was asleep in the living room floor one night. The homeowners wife and youngest daughter was in the room. Then they stated that the cat was picked up by and unseen force and tossed across the room at the homeowners wife. The second account was late one night when the homeowners wife was working on the computer she felt a hand touch her shoulder. When she turned around to see who had touched her there was no one there. Both children claim to have had a run in with a little boy's spirit in the basement. They stated that they had had some friends over to spend the night and were in their bedroom in the basement with the door closed. That is when they heard a knock on the door and a little boy ask them to let him in. They also claim that during this time they wrote a note asking "Who are you?" and placed it under the door. After a short time the note was pushed back under the door with the name "Jason" written on it. Also on another occasion the children told of an occurrence outside late one afternoon of hearing their names being called by a female voice and seeing a shadow like figure down at their grandfathers house also located on the property. The youngest stated right before they heard the voice and seen the shadow that she had seen a black male seated on a trash can out near an the old farm house that was their great-grandfathers home. She stated that the black male vanished when they heard their names being called. The homeowner told me that he had not been present at any of the occurrences, but did state that when they first bought the home and had it moved to the property. That there were some strange things that had occurred like hearing a man moaning in the home and one of the upstairs bedrooms always was cold. The homeowner did not know the true history of the home, only that it was originally built and located at the airport in Atlanta. It was sold and moved to Covington by the previous owners and then he purchased it and had it moved to its present location. The homeowner also informed us that his mother had passed away on the property in his fathers home located on the property in October of 2005. Also that his grandfather had passed away in the old farm house located on the property in the late 70's. His grandfather who was Truman Bell had owned the land and had a cotton farm in the late 40's. He told me that he had employed a large number of black workers and that on Sundays they would regularly have lunch for all of his employees. During the time there in November there was a strange since of being watched by something unseen in the basement of the home and on the property. Photos were taken on the basement and the property namely the outside of the old farm house. One photo in the basement revealed an orb near the bedroom door that the children claimed to have heard the little boy. Also an EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) sweep was done of the basement and the upstairs living room. There was no abnormal fields present. Several EVP's were conducted in the basement and outside of the old farm house at the trash can were the figure of the black male was seen. Once the EVP's were analyzed, we found several anomalies on the recordings. (See the Audio page under private residents.) One EVP labeled "She didn't do it." confirmed that the incident with the cat did happen. After finding the EVP's on the recordings. The homeowner was contacted and a nighttime investigation was set up for January 20, 2007. The B.C.P.S. conducted the investigation of the home and of the old farm house, but was not granted permission to investigate inside the old farm house. Three night vision cameras were set up. Two in the home covering the basement and the upstairs living room. The third was placed outside the old farm house looking at the front of the house. Several trigger objects were placed in the basement and the upstairs living room. The entire investigation took around three to four hours. We conducted EMF sweeps, temperature reading, EVP'S in the basement and upstairs living room and took lot of photos. Photos were taken outside the old farm house and EVP's were conducted as well. We had no movement out of our trigger objects which were a baseball and small truck in the basement and a toy stuffed cat which was placed in the upstairs living room. All Photos and video had nothing unusual on them. EMF and temperature readings were normal. The EVP's that were conducted in the upstairs living room had nothing on them. The basement and outside the old farm house did reveal some interesting results. (See the new Evp's added on the audio page) One EVP was conducted in the bedroom with the door closed where the children stated that the little boy had made contact. The recording picked him up asking several times to be let into the room. At the old farm house on the porch we knocked on the door and asked if Truman Bell was present. We got an reply of "Come inside" also a reverse Evp was picked up and when played backwards was a voice saying "I fallen, Please help me." is heard. This evp is very interesting due to the fact that when the homeowner heard it. He told me that his Grandmother had fallen in that house and broke her hip and laid on the floor in the home for a day before she was found. He also told us that she never recovered from the injury and passed away in the hospital a short time later. This property has a lot of paranormal activity present and another investigation is being planned that will give us access to the inside of the old farm house. So when this takes place any evidence that is collected will be placed on the site. Statues of Case: PENDING
